Tap Into Your Perfect Weight 04/13/2010
For some of us, achieving our own perfect weight seems to be out of our reach. We see happy, lean, and confident people around us, but we don't know how to achieve the same. Maybe we grew up being rewarded with food for our "good" behavior. Maybe we had to clean the plate before we were allowed to get up from the dinner table. Maybe we learned to equate food with love. We discovered chocolate, or ice-cream, or potato chips, or candy... It doesn't matter - we have THE comfort food. Whenever we feel lonely, or sad, or angry, or frustrated, or even bored, we reach for the food. Often even before we had a chance to identify the underlying negative emotion! We never really wanted to live that way, but we got CONDITIONED. Our subconscious mind got programmed for that kind of repeat experience. How do we break the cycle?! Try using this EFT protocol: On a scale 0-10, with 10 being as high as possible, identify your current guilt about your weight. That's your starting point. Karate Chop:"Even though I feel so frustrated, anxious, and annoyed because of my weight, I give myself permission to relax just today anyway." "Even though being thin and confident seem to be out of my reach, I choose to love and accept myself a little bit more every day anyway." "Even though I really don't feel like doing this silly tapping right now, I choose to get in touch with my True Self, and I give my self permission to feel good in my skin regardless of the number that my scale shows." Eyebrow: I'm too fat! Side of eye: I gain weight if I even look at the glass of water! Under eye: How can I possibly calm down? Under nose: I don't even like to see myself in the mirror Chin: I'm overwhelmed Collarbone: I hate to shop for clothes Under arm: Why even bother? Lower rib: I'm so angry with myself! Top of head: I could eat a whole chocolate bar right now! EB: There must be a way SE: Others managed to lose weight UE: And keep it off UN: Not me! CH: I gain all of it back - and then some! CB: I choose to love myself anyway UA: Even those parts that want to eat all the time LR: I give myself permission to enjoy life. TH: I'm good enough. It feels good to be me. Take a deep breath and relax. Check your level of distress again. Did it go down? Ideally, you want to bring it down to a zero. If needed, you can go and do a new round of tapping. Good luck!
