Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are some of the most popular questions that I get from both prospective and existing clients. If there's something that you'd really like to know, but you can't find the answer here, feel free to drop me a note. Thanks!
Q: How long are the coaching sessions?
A: Our first session would last about 90 minutes. That would give us enough time to go over my simple Intake Form that you would fill out beforehand, get to know each other a bit, cover the basic EFT protocol, and experience EFT firsthand. Very likely, I would use other coaching tools and techniques with you as well, depending on the nature of your challenge.
Following sessions last about 1 hour. Sometimes I go a few minutes longer, to make sure my client has enough time to gain composure if the session was very emotional for him/her.
Q: What are your office hours?
A: My typical office hours are in the EVENING: 6-9 PM Monday to Friday (and an occasional appointment on Saturdays).
I take pride in being a stay-at-home mom during the day (I have a son in college and two little ones at home). In the evening, my husband comes home from his work and plays with the kids for a couple of hours, while I scoot out of the house to work with my clients and speak in full sentences for a change. By the time I come home, everyone is tired and ready for sleep. I have the best of both worlds! :)
Q: I don't live in Ames, Iowa. Can I still hire you? How can you help me long distance?
A: No problem! I can work with you over the phone or via Skype just as well as in person. Actually, some of my best sessions happened with clients that I've never had a chance to meet in person!
Q: I've heard of your tiny office. Is it true that it measures only 8.5' x 9' ?
A: Yes! My office is probably smaller than walk-in closets of some of my clients... However, it's not about the size of my office - it's about the size of your desire to change your life! Are you "sick and tired" of your situation?
Q: I'm concerned that EFT is not in line with my religion.
A: I understand. However, EFT has no specific religious or spiritual background whatsoever. That's why it's practiced all over the world, regardless of people's religions and beliefs. Actually, it's just an organized way of systematically stimulating certain points on our bodies that we unconsciously touch throughout the day anyway, but we're usually not aware of it. (For example, most of us instinctively rub or press the area between our eyebrows when dealing with a headache. Is there a religion out there that forbids that?!)
Q: I don't believe in those Chinese body meridians. This looks too "woo-woo" for my taste and I'm not Chinese...
A: That's OK. You don't have to believe in any of this and it can still help you. Do you understand how does electricity in your home work? And you still probably use it every day.
Q: My ............. (fill in the blank) could use some of this stuff. What can I do to help him/her?
A: We have many options. First, we can work on YOUR frustration with that person. Second, you can give him/her my contact information or even buy him/her a Gift Certificate. Or, I can also teach you how to tap surrogately (intentionally) for that person, which is somewhat similar to praying for someone else.
Q: Why do I have to book 3 private sessions to start? Why do I have to prepay?
A: As a hypnotist, I know that it takes at least 21 days to make or break a habit. We start with 1 session a week (over the course of 3 weeks) to make sure that we have those 21 days covered. I also tend to assign simple homework between sessions to keep reinforcing work that we've done together during our appointments.
Paying for your first 3 sessions in advance is a sign of your commitment - you're serious about showing up for your appointments and willing to do the work it takes to make a shift.
Q: What's your success rate with your clients?
A: About 95% experience significant improvements with their previously unresolved emotional issues. Please take a look at the "Testimonials" under the "About EFT" page. A small number of people may not be ready to let go and move on...
Q: I'm very skeptical. This all sounds too good to be true plus the tapping itself looks silly.
A: I understand! When I first learned EFT, I was skeptical myself. Just give yourself permission to be a good sport and have some fun with tapping. It's a skill like any other and practice does help.
Q: Does EFT work on ... (fill in the blank)?
A: We can give it a try. The idea is to try it on "everything" and see if it works. I can't promise that EFT is going to solve your problem, but I can promise that I will do my very best to help you.
Q: I'm not sure that I can afford your fee. What are my options?
A: I have never turned anyone away who was seriously committed to personal growth. We might be able to set up a payment plan. After all, how much does it cost you to walk around with all those unresolved emotional issues? On how many levels are you hurting? How many days are you missing at work? Actually, coaching would likely save you a lot of money, time, and grief down the road.
Q: Who's your typical client?
A: I work with both men and women. The ages span from infants to an 85 years "young" client. However, about 80% of my clients are
women, most of them moms. As a mom myself, I believe that "When mom's happy, everyone's happy!" (I don't know about you, but in our house when I'm grumpy, we eat cereal for dinner!)
Q: How many sessions will it take?
A: I can't predict that! Most of my clients book the 3- or 6-month packages. They know that it takes some time to undergo that personal transformation. Those clients that have achieved the most wonderful results, stayed with me a full year - they have transformed their lives on so many levels. My goal is to empower my clients, give them the tools to heal their experiences and move on with their lives as soon as possible.
Q: I love my newly found sense of freedom and joy. I wish my friends and family would experience the same. Do you accept new clients?
A: Absolutely! The best compliment you can give me is to refer your loved ones to me. Plus, for every 3 clients that you send to me, you get a complimentary session for yourself. (You may never have to pay for a session again.) :)
